Claims are submitted at www.tollhomecare.com. The state and community are selected, then the log on information provided at closing are entered.
Once you log in, you select the type of issue (i.e. electrical) and then the area of the house experiencing the issue. After selecting those things you have the opportunity enter free text and elaborate further. You can enter several issues during one warranty request/inspection submission.
After you are done entering your requests, you submit it and a message is shown stating that you will be contacted shortly.
Voila!!!! Your warranty request has been submitted. No speaking to someone on the phone. No visiting a sales office. No fuss.
I will post soon about our experience with Toll after submitting previous requests and will also share what he have had issues with.

I remember when I inquired about the energy efficiency. Most other builders brag about their energy efficiency and like to detail what energy efficient features their homes include. The only thing I got from Toll Brothers was a link: www.tollgreen.com I had to research the regulations and recommendations for insulation ratings on my own. Here in the Houston area summers are crazy hot so that's when I'll really be able to tell.
Here's the exact amounts of my electricity bills so far:
November: $89.94
December: $128.97
January: $212.13
February: $115.88
March: $121.56
April: $85.40
May: $130.81
I guess I hadn't really been paying attention because I enrolled in AutoPay.
Doesn't look too energy efficient to me. I should be scared of what the bills in the summer will be.
Wow, if thats all you are consuming in a 5000 sf house, awesome! The numbers do seem low to me, do you know if heat is supplied by a gas furnace or is electric? Thanks!

Remember that there are very mild winters here and crazy hot summers.
That is still pretty good! Yes, the next 4-5 months will be the real test for TB's green claims. I am very interested in energy efficiency, do you know if the exterior walls were 2x6 or 2x4 construction? Thanks again!

ReplyDeleteTexas Custom Patio will be presenting their quote to us next week. They actually take the time to put together a presentation with computer graphics showing the options on our actual house! Cool, right?
